The Wyre Estuary - a coastal delight

Recently, due to a friends illness, I have taken their Labradoodle Monty for a walk a couple of times . As they live at Thornton, they advised me to go to Stanah, and the Wyre Estuary Country Park. I did and discovered it is a great place for you and your dogs.

There's ample parking, an ecology centre, a shop and a tearoom plus several picnic benches, and toilets, including disabled toilet facilities (radar key required). The walk follows a path which can become very muddy in wet weather (wear wellies!) so it's not really accessible for wheelchairs, however you can hire rough terrain mobility vehicles.

The dogs loved it, running in the grass and mud, so make sure you take some towels to rub them down with, before you get back in the car.

The great thing about Steve being married to a hairdresser, is that I can experiment a bit with my look. I decided to go dark early this year and although it took a bit if getting used to, I really love it now.

It's a bit confusing for those of you who remember me as a blonde and wonder who the strange dark haired woman is greeting them at the door!

I think a change does you good. I can highly recommend Rachaels' salon. Not only can you have a new hair do, but you can pamper yourself in the beauty room with a facial or massage, or get your nails done while you are here on your holiday. if any of you are interested in a pamper weekend or midweek break let me know and I can arrange something for you.

Hi everyone. It's damn cold out there on the promenade, so get wrapped up warm if you are heading to Blackpool this week!

I have decided to join WeightWatchers Online. I'm not telling you what I weigh because it's horrific. When I reach my goal weight (in a couple of years tiime probably!) I'll reveal to the world just what a fat blob I have become recently!

I'm hoping that by making my progress public I will be more likely to stick to the plan. My weigh in day is next Monday so wish me luck!

Hi everyone.Welcome to my new blog page where you can find out whats going on at The Chesterfield, and in Blackpool.

This is the last week of the illuminations. The fantastic light show will end in a finale of fireworks next Sunday. Don't miss your final opportunity to see our towns wonderful display.

We will be starting our Turkey and Tinsel weekends very soon. Most of them are now fully booked, but we still have a couple of double rooms left for the 7th to 9th of November. It's only £85 per person, and for that you get Bed and Breakfast, a delicious four course festive evening meal on both Friday and Saturday, great fun entertainment, hot and cold buffet supper and FREE BAR from 8pm till midnight both nights!
